1. The Rockaways: TheEdgemere Hotel

    “The Edgemere Hotel opened in 1895 on the ocean between B. 35th St and B. 36th Streets. This prominent landmarks had 182 rooms, sixty with private bath, and electric elevators. In 1906 the hotel changed its name to the Edgemere Club. From 1919 a series of different new owners operated the aging hotel, which was finally demolished in 1935.”
